Rose primarily practises in common law, inquests and inquiries and public law.
Rose is a former Principal Solicitor in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Branch at the Victorian Government Solicitorâ€™s Office, where she had carriage of high profile litigation and inquests on behalf of the State of Victoria and its departments and agencies.
Rose has expertise in intentional torts (including misfeasance in public office and malicious prosecution) and negligence, particularly claims involving novel duties of care.
Rose also has significant experience in police powers, privilege issues, public interest immunity claims and suppression regimes under the Open Courts Act 2013.
Prior to her seven years at the VGSO, Rose gained experience in criminal and international law while working as a legal intern in the Trials Chamber of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and with the Center for Death Penalty Litigation in North Carolina.
Rose holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and Bachelor of Arts from Monash University.
