Experience

Louise has a broad commercial and public law practice. She has particular expertise in:

  • complex contractual disputes;
  • joint venture and partnership disputes;
  • matters relating to family trusts and trading trusts;
  • Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and business & human rights;
  • First Peoples' legal issues; and
  • judicial review and merits review proceedings.

Before coming to the Bar, Louise was the General Counsel at the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria. There, she delivered strategic advice on a broad range of public law, commercial and corporate governance matters, and in relation to the Yoorrook Justice Commission.

Earlier, Louise specialised in complex commercial dispute resolution as a Senior Associate at Clifford Chance LLP in London and a Lawyer at King & Wood Mallesons in Melbourne. Louise also served as Associate to the Hon. Justice Kenny AM of the Federal Court of Australia.

Louise holds a Master of Laws from Columbia University, where she was named a James Kent Scholar for outstanding academic achievement. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

Louise read with Alexander Solomon-Bridge. Her senior mentor is Kathleen Foley SC.
