Lisa appears and advises in ratings and land tax disputes, and appeals, particularly in relation to commercial and industrial premises, agricultural land and development sites. She has acted for both valuation authorities and private landowners.
Lisa also acts for landlords, tenants and determining valuers in connection with rental determination disputes in commercial and retail leases. She regularly advises on issues concerning easements and restrictive covenants.
Lisa is a member of the Supreme Court Valuation and Compensation List Users Group, and the VCAT Land Valuation Stakeholders Group.
The second specialised area of Lisa's practice involves professional negligence, regulation and discipline.
She has considerable experience appearing in and advising on professional negligence claims and disciplinary prosecutions, in the state superior courts and in the VCAT Legal Practice and Review and Regulation Lists.
Lisa has been briefed by professional regulators (including the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner), professional liability insurers, lawyers and law practices, accountants, and medical and allied health professionals.
She has particular experience in advising on legal issues relating to lawyers and law practices, including state and national regulatory matters, professional ethics, costs and trust accounting issues, and external supervision, management and receiverships.
Before coming to the Bar, Lisa was a Senior Associate in the commercial litigation group of a top tier national law firm, with a particular focus on banking and insolvency litigation and trade practices and product liability law.
