Jacqui practices broadly in general commercial law, common law, public law and occupational health and safety. She practices in both Victoria and Queensland.
Her commercial experience has a strong focus on insurance and negligence but she also has a special interest in competition and consumer matters, both in the commercial and common law context. She accepts briefs in a wide range of commercial matters.
Jacqui’s common law experience is diverse. She has acted in a broad range of disputes involving health and other professionals, corporations, labour hire and indemnity disputes. She has particular experience and expertise in transport, aviation, mining and infrastructure claims and has specialist skills in rail safety and all aspects of litigation concerning rail operations.
Jacqui has experience advising and appearing in investigations and prosecutions under Queensland work health and safety legislation and has been involved in a number of concurrent coronial investigations and inquests arising from work accidents.
Jacqui’s administrative law practice is primarily in judicial review and migration but she also accepts briefs in discrimination and disciplinary proceedings on behalf of regulatory bodies and respondents.
Jacqui also has experience providing front end advice to corporations about managing and minimising litigation risk, including advising on policies, procedures and risk management strategies, reviewing and tightening indemnity clauses in commercial contracts and reviewing insurances to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage.
Prior to joining the bar, Jacqui was a Senior Associate at Meridian Lawyers in Brisbane and Melbourne, where she practiced in product and public liability, worker claims, professional negligence claims and all manner of insurance disputes. Jacqui previously worked at DLA Piper (Brisbane) in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
