Before coming to the Bar, Anna was a solicitor advocate at the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia for two years, and then performed the same role at Matthew White and Associates for eighteen months.
In her time at the Aboriginal Legal Service in the Kimberley, Anna undertook many Magistrates Court contests, pleas, and bail applications, and appeared as sole counsel in two District Court jury trials. At Matthew White and Associates, she continued to appear regularly in both criminal and IVO proceedings of all kinds in the Magistrates Court, as well as acting as counsel in County Court pleas and Supreme Court bail applications.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. She also studied at Georgetown University’s Center for Transnational Legal Studies, and competed as a member of CTLS’s VIS moot team in Vienna on the topics of international contract and sales law and commercial arbitration.
While studying her Juris Doctor she worked as a legal research assistant for boutique employment law firm Justitia, and also tutored classes of undergraduate students in the University of Melbourne’s Arts faculty (teaching English literature).
She is interested in gaining more practice experience in administrative law and common law, as well as building on her experience in criminal law and advocacy.
She is reading with Chris Carr and Neill Murdoch QC is her senior mentor.
