Before coming to the Victorian Bar, Rodrigo was employed from 2006 to 2009 as an Associate in the litigation group of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. Rodrigo worked on commercial and constitutional matters, including work representing Qualcomm in an antitrust case against Broadcom regarding standards setting and licensing of intellectual property rights in the mobile communications industry and representing plaintiffs in a US constitutional Equal Protection clause claim regarding a ballot initiative amendment to the Constitution of Michigan. While at Cravath, Rodrigo also worked advising clients such as IBM in regulatory proceedings before the SEC.
Rodrigo graduated with first class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2003. At Melbourne Law School, Rodrigo was awarded the Alan Missen Foundation Prize for Best Essay on Civil Liberties in Australia, the Supreme Court Exhibition Prize for Jurisprudence and the Hearn Exhibition Prize. Rodrigo earned his Master of Laws from Harvard Law School in 2006. At Harvard Law School, Rodrigo drafted the respondent’s brief in Randall v. Sorrell, 126 S. Ct. 2479 (2006), a case regarding campaign finance laws, before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Prior to moving to the United States, Rodrigo completed his articles of clerkship at Clayton Utz, Melbourne.
